First thing in the morning I went down to the beach Grabbed myself a muscle It was well within my reach Went back to the kitchen Whipped up a lemon butter sauce Little did I know that day My life I almost lost. Red tide all the fish have died Red tide we are still alive Red tide it's rising in my mind Red tide it's time to draw the line Later on that afternoon We went out for a hike Challenging Rock scrambling It was more of a climb hanging off the precipice I stared out at the sea That's when I saw the thing That deeply troubled me Red tide all the fish have died Red tide we are still alive Red tide it's rising in my mind Red tide it's time to draw the line Red Tides running up the coast again Red Tides running you beware my friend Red tide spotted in the waters of Maine If you've got troubles red tides to blame We made it off that mountain And went down to the pound Got ourselves some lobsters the biggest ones around onions carrots celery we made a simple stock imagine my amazement when I looked into the pot Red tide all the fish have died Red tide we are still alive Red tide it's rising in my mind Red tide it's time to draw the line

Moving Train 04:31
Rolling coursing morphine Visions of existence Framework of repentance and Redemption's consequence Temperamental fantasy Destined to fulfill a dream that ceased it's fiction as it made you ill Stop the moving train turn the signals red Escape before your body gets the better of your head Don't Wait to hear the sirens before you stop and look Main line attraction got you dangling by the hook Distraction of the weaker in the lame a lustful self-destruction of emptiness and pain gutted by desire confused and wanting more step into my fire you've been here before Stop the moving train turn the signals red Escape before your body gets the better of your head People gather round to see you broken down once the standard-bearer now smashed upon the ground as it all unfolds your death spirals out you open your mouth but you still can't shout… Stop the moving train turn the signals red Escape before your body gets the better of your head

I miss you and I don't even know it Til' I pick apart everything that hurts I hope you're somewhere safe in his arms And he sends you back down to earth Opportunity and promises Are not worth the compromises Can't break the bind When guilt's personified It took new life to give old life a painless place in my heart It took new life It takes holding on to letting to go to break your heart to pieces It takes letting go of holding on to make you wonderfully breathless Opportunity and promises Are not worth the compromises Can't break the bind When guilt's personified It took new life to give old life a painless place in my heart It took new life It took new life to give old life a painless place in my heart It took new life

I Will Wait 02:53
Every part of me that shines derives its light from you when you hold me in the night we radiate every path we consider taking the way is lit by you as the darkness shrinks and the way we think combines to find the truth thats been waiting there thats been waiting there thats been waiting there for you Every part of you that shines derives its light from me when you hold me in the night We radiate every path we consider taking the way is lit by you as the darkness shrinks and our minds’ instinct combines to find the truth I will wait I will wait I will wait for you I will wait to find the truth The truth that has been waiting thats been waiting there thats been waiting there thats been waiting there for you

Chase You 04:02
I don’t know how to reach you A smile, a gesture a word or two You think you’re cool So I keep my distance You cant fight the cards Throw out the one you need most But here’s the one you’ve wanted all along Beautiful face My world I’d waste To have you here For whatever you can spare Sun breaks dark Body’s stark Pretending you Don’t feel what I feel Can I grab you for a moment Like light slipping through my fingers I’m the happiest I’ve ever been to have to wait Dreaming of taking up your space A smile to mask your hint of cold blooded sadness The center of attention you control the questions You can yell at me, I’ll take whatever I can get I’ll chase you til I learn your name Beautiful face My world I’d waste To have you here For whatever you can spare Sun breaks dark Body’s stark Pretending you Don’t feel what I feel Can I grab you for a moment Like light slipping through my fingers I’m the happiest I’ve ever been to have to wait Dreaming of taking up your space

Wind, is in my sales, Moving fast Along the waves. My cruising speed, fulfills a need it Keeps me sane I keep on toe’n the line with you yet I ain't got nothing to show If we cross over this line my dear I fear a truth that we both know Sirens sing, in my dreams they call to me as if to say Freeze, stay with me and id never leave, if they had their way I keep on toe’n the line with you yet I ain't got nothing to show If we cross over this line my dear I fear a truth that we both know i'll stay with you for the rest of the night and wake beside you before the sun rises it's going to take the rest of this life to know all the ways in which you shine Please, set me free From this need To escape I’ll Stay, stay with you Finally, You can have your way I keep on toe’n the line with you yet I ain't got nothing to show If we cross over this line my dear I fear a truth that we both know

How do you still not understand I'm crying out I thought you'd hear My mouth must not've been open All these years with you, only you All these years with you What do I have to do to be loved? Can't create it Can't erase it Guess I can't rush it either Ain't four years enough? I creep on you Like cake sitting on a table With no one around to catch me eating it I always find what I'm looking for How do I change when all I wanted was a home? I don't want to have to make decision I didn't sign up to make All these years with you, only you What do I have to do to be loved? Can't create it Can't erase it Guess I can't rush it either Ain't four years enough? It's my time, it's my time, thats free But you ain't buying You ain't buying, no

My Soul 05:09
Let me tell you about my soul it is very very old when I arrived I did not know just how far my game would go so I assembled around me a team asked them to be the best that they could be standing by Me Like a Stone God knows you can't do this alone Please don’t leave me now Won’t you stay oh don’t you go I can’t stand to see you leave and I’m sayin’ please please won’t you stay with me Can you tell me about your soul, it seems very very old when you arrived how could you know That things would get so out of control but you got your family because you grew right from that tree I’m standing by you like a stone you can’t do this **** alone Please don’t leave me now Won’t you stay oh don’t you go I can’t stand to see you leave and I’m sayin’ please please won’t you stay with me

about

Dave Koltai presents ‘Daughter of Mercury’ an original Rock 'n Roll album created with Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun from Living Colour and lead vocalist Monique Teichert. Known in musical circles as the sound designer for Supro and Pigtronix, Koltai now steps out as a guitarist, writer and producer supported by one of the most righteous rhythm sections in music.

Bassist Doug Wimbish (Jeff Beck, Depeche Mode, Mick Jagger) and drummer Will Calhoun (Living Colour) have been developing Koltai’s songs since 2018, and it shows. This world-renowned rhythm section brings a visceral, crackling energy to Daughter of Mercury, wrapping their signature heavy funk around Koltai and Monique’s psychedelic alt-rock sound.

The album’s lyrics, co-written by Monique and Koltai, tell a revealing and personal story of loss and rebirth. Throughout the arc of the album, Monique’s ability to morph her voice from sultry to ferocious delivers a riveting mix of vulnerability and determination to face the seductive powers of addiction, obsession, and desperation.

Co-produced with Grammy-winning engineer, Jimmy T. Meslin (Dream Theater), Daughter of Mercury is a musical tour-de-force that revels in the genre-bending attitude of the early 90’s Lollapalooza bands’ head-on collision of greasy funk and hi-fi art rock.
